Is Royal Canin Canadian?

The short answer

No, and yes, depending which question you are asking. Royal Canin is owned by Mars, so it is not a Canadian company. But it built a factory and its Canadian head office in Guelph, Ontario in 2008, and says that plant makes dry cat and dog food. It is a foreign-owned brand with real Canadian manufacturing, which is exactly the case a simple Canadian or not-Canadian label gets wrong.

The product itself is manufactured in Canada. This is about the factory, not the head office.

The company states the Guelph plant produces dry nutrition across a large number of SKUs. It does not say that every Royal Canin product sold in Canada is made there, so we have not claimed that.
