Is Carna4 Canadian?

The short answer

Carna4 is a Toronto pet food company that states its food is made in Canada. The Toronto-or-Calgary question that blocked this record on 2026-08-30 is settled: three Carna4-controlled sources give a Toronto corporate address. Ownership is a separate matter and remains unstated. The company describes itself as family-owned but does not say where the owning family is, and no registry search succeeded, so we do not record a Canadian ownership claim.

Head office: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

What “Canadian” means for this brand

These are separate facts and we keep them separate. A company can be Canadian-owned and manufacture abroad, or foreign-owned and manufacture here. Each line below carries its own evidence and its own date.

Made in Canada

Yes

The product itself is manufactured in Canada. This is about the factory, not the head office.

The company states production is in Canada and gives a Toronto corporate address, but names no plant, city or province for the facility itself. Its own contact pages return 404.

Canadian-owned company

Not stated

The company that owns the brand is Canadian. This says nothing about where its products are manufactured.

The company calls itself family-owned and is based in Toronto, but never states the nationality of its ownership. A Toronto address is not a shareholder record, and the federal corporate registry search returned an application error on 2026-09-09.

The only support we found for this is the company’s own promotional wording. We have not located an independent source.

Made with Canadian ingredients

Partly

Applies to: ingredients described as grown in the U.S. and Canada, per a 2012 statement

Some or all of the inputs are sourced in Canada. Check the scope note for which ones.

STALE, and deliberately not refreshed. The only sourcing statement we could find dates from 2012 and describes production at an Oklahoma bakery, which the same release says has since moved to Canada. It therefore predates the current supply chain and should not be read as a description of it. Needs a direct check with the company.

How we check this

Every claim on this page links to the source we read and the date we read it. We take origin and manufacturing statements from a company’s own site, its packaging, or a government record, and we do not infer where something is manufactured from who owns the company. Ownership and manufacturing change independently, so each claim is dated separately. The oldest check on this page is from 2026-09-09.

Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we will re-check it.
